Since its birth as a town Emu Park has been a holiday destination.
From its earliest times holiday makers would arrive, particularly from the west but particularly with the advent of the train, from Rockhampton and Mount Morgan. These holiday expeditions would often last several months while summer was at its height, hence the subtitle to the souvenir booklet, ‘A Seaside Home from Home’.
