ABOUT THE PUBLISHER

Coorooman Press is a business born of a love of place and of people. Coorooman Press specializes in books about Queensland cultural history and identity, particularly Central Queensland from where Coorooman draws its name.

Publisher Mark Svendsen is ably supported in his role as owner of the Press by Associate Managers: Thyri Avery (Marketing); Mark Avery (Editorial and Research); and Dr Stuart Glover (Special Projects).

Using locals for our layout, editing, marketing and production, we are bringing history to life in this magnificent series of works encompassing Rockhampton and all its surrounding regions.

As a crossroads metropolis, Rockhampton has plenty of tales to tell, many of which are lost once they are out of publication. From authors' past and present we bring you stories reflective of the cultural identity and significance of this unique part of Australia.

Our Special Projects list, in development under the eye of Dr Stuart Glover, threatens to expand our current titles beyond CQ and into social/cultural history projects of state and national significance. Watch this space!

Coorooman Press also publishes the creative fiction of founder Mark Svendsen. Unfortunately we do not publish works of fiction by any other authors at this point in our development.

Other Coorooman Press Publications

We at Coorooman Press pay yadaba (respect) to the Darumbal people, the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work; and to the Darumbal elders of the past, the present and those emerging. We also pay respect to the Woppaburra as the traditional custodians of our beautiful Woppa — Great Keppel Island.
